Email support, iPhone and Android: lukar@paxa.media

A person answers, in English or Croatian. If you are reporting a security issue, say so in the subject line and we will treat it as urgent.

Please never send your recovery phrase, and do not send screenshots of your balance or addresses you hold funds at. None of it helps us diagnose anything, and all of it can be used against you. Anyone who asks you for your recovery phrase is stealing from you — including anyone claiming to be us.

Before you email

I lost my recovery phrase. Can you restore my wallet?

No, and neither can anyone else. BitHedge never sees your phrase — it is generated on your iPhone, encrypted with a key inside the Secure Enclave, and never transmitted. There is no copy anywhere, which is exactly why the app makes you verify the words before it will let you continue.

I got a new phone. How do I move my wallet?

Install BitHedge on the new phone, choose Restore existing wallet, and enter your recovery phrase. Your phrase is deliberately excluded from iCloud and iTunes backups, so restoring the phone alone will not carry the wallet across — the words will. If you restored a phone and BitHedge opens on a wallet it cannot spend from, that is the same cause, and the app will say so and point you at the restore screen. Your bitcoin is untouched on the blockchain.

My balance is wrong, or a transaction is missing.

Pull down on the home screen to sync again. The first sync after restoring scans the whole chain history and can take a few minutes. If it stays wrong, check Settings → Chain source: an unreachable server shows the balance as “Not synced” rather than quietly reporting a wrong number.

My transaction is stuck.

Open it from the activity list. Under “Stuck?” choose “Pay a higher fee”. That replaces the transaction with a higher-fee version using replace-by-fee, so miners reconsider it instead of it sitting in the mempool. The coins never leave your control and cannot be spent twice.

Why is Send greyed out?

The wallet holds nothing yet, or the first sync has not finished. Tap Receive to get an address to fund it with.

Can I use my own Bitcoin node?

Yes. Settings → Chain source → Your own node, then enter your Esplora address (something like umbrel.local:3002, or a .onion address) and tap “Test and use”. Once set, BitHedge talks only to your node and will never quietly fall back to a public server, because that would leak your wallet to exactly the party you ran a node to avoid.

Is my phrase compatible with other wallets?

Yes. BitHedge uses standard BIP39 phrases with BIP84 (Native SegWit) or BIP86 (Taproot) derivation, so your phrase restores in any wallet that supports them. You are not locked in, and that is on purpose.

When is the Android version coming?

iPhone is first and Android is planned. There is no date yet. Email us and we will tell you when it is ready rather than putting you on a mailing list.

Reporting a security issue

Email lukar@paxa.media with what you found, how to reproduce it, and how you would like to be credited. We will confirm receipt, tell you what we intend to do about it, and let you know when the fix ships.

What we can and cannot do

BitHedge is non-custodial. We hold no keys, run no server for the app, and have no account system — so there is no support action that involves us touching your money. We cannot freeze a transaction, reverse a payment, recover a lost phrase, or look up your balance. What we can do is explain what the app is doing and fix it when it is wrong.

More detail on what does and does not leave your device is in the privacy policy.
